Product Description

HOPSON Radial Chemical Repairs, produced with soft gray cushion gum, are ideal for cold chemical vulcanization after the prepared injury has been filled with rubber and cured with heat.

These repairs are center-over-injury designed and reinforced to restore the strength and flexibility to radial tires. For best results, use with HOPSON Chemical Vulcanizing Fluid(TC-101,103) or Heavy Duty Blue Cement(TC-101B,103B)

 

HOPSON offers a variety of radial-ply repair units to meet the diverse demands of today's passenger, truck, and OTR tire applications. HOPSON radial repair patches are thick, rubber-reinforced patches which allow placement on the tyre in any direction. A special compounding and design allow the repair unit to flex and resist heat, assuring a permanent repair.

Using Methods

 

Inspect tire for repairability using tire manufacturer of HOPSON LAB guidelines. If repairable, mark the injury with a crayon and carefully remove injuring object.
 

Probe injury to determine exact size and direction, removing all debris.
 

Select the appropriate repair patch for injury and the type of tire. Apply pre-buff cleaner to repair the area and use a rubber scraper to remove dirt and mold lubricants. Using a carbide cutter, drill the injury channel 3 times from inside then 3 times from outside, making sure all damaged and rusted cables have been removed and only good rubber remains.
 

Cement the injury channel with Chemical Vulcanizing Cement and install the appropriate vulcanizing insert. Trim flush with the tire inner liner. Mechanically buff outlined repair area to a velvet-like texture. Remove buffing dust with a clean brush or vacuum. Apply Chemical Vulcanizing Cement to the buffed area, working into rubber and ALLOW TO DRY THOROUGHLY.
 

Remove the backing and center repair patch over the injury and thoroughly stitch down from the center out to remove trapped air.
 

Finish repair by applying Inner Liner Sealer around the edge of the repair patch and to the over buff area.
